This course examines Japanís foreign relations. After a brief
historical survey, it covers Japanís contemporary relations with the
United States, China, Korea, Russia, and Southeast Asia. Topics
include economic as well as military and political relations.
Beyond the undergraduate reading list, the instructor will arrange
required work for graduate students in accord with their goals and
