The primary goal of this introductory sociology course is to help
students think critically about the social world in which they live.
Students will develop analytical skills through class discussions,
readings, and assignments. While emphasis will be placed on
introducing to the students to new ways to understand social life,
substantive topics such as politics, social problems, and social
movements will be used to engage students in an intellectually
stimulating and enjoyable way.
