Description of the course: Students will be introduced to the craft
necessary to write a motion picture screenplay, and will be given
guidance through both instructor and peer critique.
Course format: Class time will be divided between lecture, workshop
and review.
Grading procedure: Grading is rigorous, based on class
participation, short assignments and completion of a feature-length
screenplay.
Required texts: Poetics by Aristotle, The Art of Dramatic Writing by
Lajos Egri, additional suggested reading or viewing TBD.
Other pertinent info: Script formatting guidelines will be provided.
Class meets 2:30pm - 3:45pm MW
