COLL-E 104 What Makes it Jewish? (Cohen) (S&H) (3 cr.)

This course is designed to introduce students to a number of discourses associated with the study of culture as social practice, framed within the context of Jewish life. Ideas about how people perceive and respond to history will serve as an important part of our discussion; our focus, however, will be on how societies bring these ideas of history and “tradition” together within contemporary activities and debates in order to lead meaningful lives.
