Writing Poetry 1

2:30p 5:30p T

In this course we will work on the details of creating and revising
poems. But we will also try to ask fundamental questions about
poetics--for instance; what constitutes a good poem? What is it
that we, as artists, are trying to do? To the end of engaging these
questions we will read essays by people such as Fanny Howe, Audre
Lorde, Garcia Lorca, and Longinus, among others. In this class
something should break.
