DESCRIPTION:	This course is designed to introduce the student to
basic wilderness survival and living skills. R110 Wilderness
Survival Skills is designed to promote an awareness of self and
nature, shelter construction, friction fire making, and wilderness
ethics.  Classroom knowledge and skills will be followed with a
weekend in the backcountry practicing and refining newly acquired
BOOKS:	A Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants: Eastern and Central
North America, by Peterson
EVALUATION:	  30% skill demonstration, 20% expedition behavior,
30% written examination, and 20% three page paper.    .
ADDITIONAL FEE:	The additional fee for the class is $160, which
includes transportation, food, and group camping equipment.
