Science Revolutions: Plato to Nato

This course surveys important developments in the history of
science, what some have called "revolutions" in the history of
science. We will begin by surveying Aristotle's contributions to
natural philosophy, and its subsequent place in late Medieval
natural philosophy. From there we will consider key developments of
the Copernican "revolution" and the scientific "revolution" of the
17th century. The last section of the course takes a topical
approach to developments in 20th century and contemporary science.
