Global Markets & Governance (INTL-I203)
NOTE:  Effective August 1, 2007, the title of  INTL-I203 will change
to Global Integration and Development

I203 focuses on the interaction between political, social and
economic factors and human development conditions at global,
national and sub-national scales, particularly in developing
countries. The course introduces students to major theoretical
perspectives on the structure, function and governance of
(international) markets. In addition, we will cover a substantial
part of the literature on economic development, as well as a number
of associated concepts, including dependency, globalization, and
sustainability.
