An introduction to the grammar and vocabulary of Syriac, the dialect
of Aramaic used by Christians in Syria and Mesopotamia during late
antiquity and the Byzantine empire. Previous study of Hebrew or
another Semitic language is helpful, but not required.
Requirements: prepared exercises for every class meeting, three
