Examines issues in child second language (L2) acquisition, including
the critical period hypothesis, universal grammar, and role of the
native grammar in the initial state of child L2 acquisition. Child L2
acquisition of phonology, morphology, and syntax is contrasted with
adult L2 acquisition, child monolingual acquisition, and simultaneous
bilingual acquisition.
