Social Work | Child Sexual Abuse and Associated Issues
S300 | 20607 | Hersch, Jessica

This social work course examines both research studies and service
application in the field of sexual abuse, neglect, and family
violence. Recent findings from empirical studies are reviewed, and
then compared to the beliefs and practices of mental health and legal
systems designed to intervene in abuse cases. Many examples are
drawn from actual cases of child sexual abuse. Students are
encouraged to develop the ability to use critical thinking when
reviewing theories and services in the field of child sexual abuse
and family violence.
