Business communication does not occur in a vacuum. To understand
and exercise the skills that will both make you effective and make
you stand out in the business world you need to understand those
skills in context. Through class discussion, activities and
projects, this course examines the skills and communication
environment of the business world in relation to environments that
students are more familiar with—school, work and consumer culture--
and focuses on sharpening analytic and decision making skills, team
building and project management.

After a series of written assignments and a small group
presentation, the course culminates in student-generated, whole
class project. C223 provides students with a key set of skills for
success in business in a way that engages the student’s previous
life experience, creating a learning experience that is engaging as
well as informative.
