Instruction will be given on the four skills of language (reading,
speaking, listening, and writing), although emphasis will be placed
on reading and discussion of advanced materials.  The course
specifically focuses on the topic of Japanese food, examining
various aspects of the Japanese culture and people revolving around
the topic.  The reading materials throughout the course consist of a
wide variety of genres and media.  The course requirements include
active participation in in-class discussion, assignments, quizzes
and tests, presentations and a project on the topic.
