This section undergraduates only.
3 credits
This course introduces basic linguistic descriptions of Japanese
phonology and morphology, and their interactions with language
variation and language acquisition. Through a series of problem
solving exercises and projects, students are expected to develop
analytical skills pertinent to linguistic observations and
argumentation. The course requirements include active participation
in class discussion, tests, presentations and a project.
Completion of at least the elementary level Japanese is strongly
recommended.
