L385 | 10901 | --
LSTU-L 385 Class, Race, Gender & Work Class Number 10901 meets Sept
2 – Dec 19; 3 cr. Organized around discussion forums, this course
provides an overview of racial/ethnic, class, and gender systems of
domination, with an emphasis on the workings of such systems in the
US. We begin with historical overviews of ethnic/racial groups and
move from there to political economic structures and outcomes: the
distributions of resources, occupations, income, and political
power. Throughout the course we intersperse short sociological
readings with readings on the political economy of work in American
society. Instructor: TBA.
