LSTU-L 390 Staffing as a Safety Issue  Class Number 13970; 1 cr.
This class meets October 20 – November 15.  Staffing is critical to
the quality of both patient care and worker health and safety in
health care workplaces.  In this class we will describe the elements
of staffing decisions in health care, and explore the impact that
long shifts have on workers’ health, family life and the quality of
patient care. We will define union power in the health care
workplace and describe examples of union approaches to staffing and
staffing contract language.  Instructor:  TBA.
