Sociology | Introduction to Sociology
S100 | 26648 | Janney

This introductory course will use the topic of globalization to
explore the understanding and uses of sociology. What
is "globalization" anyway—especially if we have to evaluate it and
measure it scientifically? Is it really something new or is it as
old as Christopher Columbus… or older? Do the predictions we might
make change depending on what theory we use? In this course,
students are expected to learn how sociology can be used to explore
and explain various social phenomena even as we narrow our focus on
the still broad area of globalization.
