This course explores sexual attitudes, behavior, and identity by
examining the history of sexuality in the United States as well as
cross cultural differences. We will look at the diversity of sexual
expression along dimensions of age, sexual orientation, ethnicity,
gender, and class. Topics that will be covered include sexual
function and health, the politics of sex education, social-
psychological aspects of sexual activity, media, sex work,
transgenderism, and sexuality over the life course.
