(3 cr.) P: Two statistics courses at the graduate level or consent of
instructor. Some familiarity with univariate analysis, hypothesis
testing, analysis of variance, and experimental design is required. In
this course, multivariate extensions of these topics will be discussed
with a strongly geometrical approach. Students do not require a prior
knowledge of linear algebra (matrix/vector manipulation) or calculus,
though some background will be helpful. Although prior computing
experience is not required, there will be a computational component to
the course, and some experience with computational statistical
packages such as SAS or R will be of use.
This course is identical to Psychology P654 Multivariate Analysis,
with which it is cross-listed.
