The main objective of this course is to explore alternative methods
of social control.  We will discuss various ways of social control -
informal, medical, and legal and look at alternative methods that
could be used to attain the social control goal. The main
alternative methods of social control, Restorative Justice and
Peacemaking will be analyzed in detail. To this end, case studies
will be cited to emphasize on a particular method.
