Intensive Writing. This course examines the intellectual history of
archaic and classical Greece, focusing on how Greek thinkers
conceptualized the nature of justice, civic ideals, strife, and the
nature of knowledge. Readings include selections from Homer's Iliad
and the Odyssey, Hesiod's Theogony and the Works and Days, pre-
Socratic philosophers, Aeschylus' Oresteia, Sophocles' Oedipus
Tyrannos and Plato's Republic and Protagoras.   (A&H)
