International Studies | Global Integration and Development
I203 | 7176 | Hershey, Megan J.

I203 serves as the core course for the International Studies
concentration in Global Integration and Development. As an
introductory course, we focus on the interaction between political,
cultural, social and economic factors and human development
conditions at global, national and sub-national scales, particularly
in developing countries. I203 covers a substantial part of the
social sciences literature on development, as well as a number of
associated concepts, including dependency, globalization, hegemony,
and sustainability. This course also introduces major theoretical
perspectives on the structure, function and governance of
international markets.
