This class will present an overview of developmental “systems”,
approaches to describing, analyzing, and interpreting ontogenetic
processes. Biological views will be emphasized. The class will
combine lecture and seminar sessions. Mostly primary source readings
will be used. To support the biological theme of the class,
evolutionary theory will be included as an overall framework.
Grading will be based on class participation and essay assignments.
