This course serves as an introduction to the sociology of sexuality
with a particular focus on the diversity in human sexuality. We
will explore a range of issues regarding sexuality including
identities, desires, behaviors, communities, and subcultures, as
well as sexual attitudes. To better understand how society shapes
and influences sexuality and, in turn, how sexuality organizes
society, we will look at the diversity in sexualities along the
lines of gender, race, ethnicity, class, age, and ability, and how
sexuality varies across time and space.
