Criminal Justice-COLL | Wrongful Convictions
P493 | 27809 | Sandys

In this class, we will investigate the causes of wrongful
convictions and discuss possible remedies for minimizing such
miscarriages of justice. The goal of this course is to
systematically describe, explain, analyze and evaluate the causes
and consequences of the wrongful prosecution, conviction, and
incarceration of the innocent in the American criminal justice
system. To the extent possible, we also will begin to review actual
allegations of innocence by inmates currently in our prisons.

Class meeting: Tuesday, 4:00-6:30

Instructor: Professor Marla Sandys, criminal justice department
