French and Italian | Topic in Learning & Teaching of French
F673 | 27556 | Dekydtspotter, Laurent

F673 discusses aspects of the knowledge acquired and the performance
system in the acquisition of French as a second language. This has
repercussions for a cognitively explicit instructional theory. We
will cover the essential topics: clause structure, verbal paradigm,
sentence interpretation, gender, noun phrase structure and
phonological acquisition. We will also address learners’ processing
of target language sentences and implications for learning and second
language behavior. This course is designed as a guided round table
discussion of articles with intermittent lectures providing
background information. Prerequisite: F580 or equivalent.
