I370 Ancient and Classical Literature of India (in translation) (3
cr.) AHLA, CSA  This course explores how ancient Indian intellectuals
conceived the notion of "duty," in a variety of contexts, beginning
with the role of the natural world and moving on to the role of social
expectations in one's effort to determine the right course of action
in any situation.  Students will read and discuss in detail a
selection of early Indian literature from across the subcontinent.
