International Studies | Topics in International Studies: Negotiation Strategies
I300 | 18223 | Affe, R.

Negotiation skills are the most common practical skills across
nearly all lines of the real world. Whether you are negotiating in
the diplomatic corps, an international trade agreement, a business
deal, or just trying to get a raise from your boss, the ability to
come away from an adversarial conversation is critical.
This class will be conducted on an interdisciplinary basis: an
introduction to various aspects of negotiations, diplomacy,
arbitration/mediation, and bargaining; copious examples throughout
history and contemporary world affairs, and opportunities for you to
practice your growing negotiation skills in a safe environment in
class.
