Poetry, Fiction, and Philosophy of Ancient Egypt: In this course,
students will be introduced to the literature of ancient Egypt. Topics
to be covered include the definition of literature and of genres;
major themes in Egyptian literature; and development through time in a
tradition that persisted for over three thousand years. All readings
will be in translation.
