In this course students will be introduced to the language of ancient
Egypt as it was spoken and written in the Egyptian Middle Kingdom
(approximately 2000 BCE). Students will learn the basics of the
hieroglyphic script and be introduced to the fundamental grammar of
the Egyptian language, and will acquire a basic vocabulary of about
300 words.
