Political Leadership in Africa

The course explores issues relating to who African political leaders
are, what got them involved in politics, the type of leadership and
political agenda they bring to the political scene, as well as
problems associated with ethnicity and political leadership on the
African continent.  Also to be discussed in the course is the
relationship between African political leaders and their
constituency, the adversities faced by the political leaders and
issues relating to specific professions/professional and their
involvement in and impact on political leadership.  Finally, the
course explores transformational, transnational and transactional
political leadership in Africa.
