This course provides an introduction to economic, political and
ethical considerations of preparing for war, initiating military
action, conducting war, and terminating military action. The course
focuses on the recent war on terrorism, on recent civil wars. Special
attention will be paid to the role superpowers can play in preventing
civil wars and in mitigating their consequences.
