This course examines important issues in Russian history through
films, both artistic and documentary.  Combines lectures with
viewing of films and discussion. The requirements include six short
essays. Viewing is mandatory.

Films include:  “Alexander Nevsky”, “Ivan the Terrible”, “Peter the
Great”, “Anna Karenina”, “Battleship Potemkin”, “October”, “Defense
Counsel Sedov”, “Come and See.”
