A survey of the art and archaeology of Greece from the Dark Ages (ca.
1000 BC) via the Archaic and the Classical eras to the end of the
Hellenistic period in the first century BC, this class covers the
acme of ancient Greek civilization and deals with famous monuments of
art and architecture like the Parthenon, classical Greek sculptures,
and vase paintings. Attention will be given to the formal
development, as well as to the function and context of Greek art and
architecture.
