International Studies emphasizes the relational and comparative
study of the manner in which individuals, groups, localities and
nations have confronted global issues, past and present. The
interdisciplinary nature of this field of study renders itself
particularly suitable to questions of theory and method. How is
knowledge generated? What kinds of methods do researchers use to
understand international events and global issues? What role do
morals and ethics play in confronting international issues? This
course exposes students to the theories, methods and skills
necessary for succeeding in International Studies and empowers them
to be active citizens and future policy makers.
