Religious Studies | Paul and His Influence in Early Christianity
A321 | 13355 | J. Harrill

Paul of Tarsus is the most important human figure in the history of Christianity. This course
investigates the man and the myth through a historical study of Paul’s own letters and the
later writings about him. We begin with a survey of Paul’s letters, turn to the social and
cultural history of Pauline congregations, and then look at Paul’s ancient and modern legacy.
Topics include Paul’s moral teaching, including areas of controversy.
