This course in modern American fiction will study road novels and
films, a phenomenon that began essentially after World War II. We
will read work by such authors as Faulkner, Hemingway, Steinbeck,
Kerouac, Nabokov, Wright, Acker, Leyner, and view such films as
BONNIE AND CLYDE, NATURAL BORN KILLERS, and EASY RIDER. Course
work will include 3 papers.
