Fine Arts | 14th & 15th Century Art in Italy
A331 | 1964 | Turner

The course will address the transition from late Medieval to Renaissance style in the visual
arts of architecture, painting, and sculpture in Central Italy (primarily Florence and Siena), and the
spread of Renaissance art forms to other parts of Italy in the 15th century. Among the major
issues to be addressed are the rise of naturalism, as well as the effects of socio-economic
conditions, and religious beliefs, upon artistic practice.
