Prerequisites: F100, F101, F102, S250 and permission of
instructor by portfolio review.
This course covers typographic composition, symbol design, and
color and form as elements of visual identity; the investigation
of various possibilities to develop the skills necessary to
control verbal statement in visual form, and to further develop
the role of non- verbal communications. Regular slide
presentations are presented to relate the class exercises to the
design field as a whole.
The goals of the course are to exercise the skills necessary for
non- verbal communication, through projects allowing
experimentation and exploration of possibilities.
The format of the course will be 3 long exercises allowing depth
and investigation.
Assignments, Tests, Grades: Series of projects to develop skills
with critiques of work in progress, and final reviews.
Attendance is required and will affect continuation in Graphic
Design.
