In this course, you will learn some of the basic functions of Modern Turkish and will develop skills necessary to communicate in a variety of essential situations, such as greeting people, speaking about yourself, asking questions, etc. In addition to reading short passages in Turkish, you will develop writing skills based on the vocabulary and grammar introduced in the communicative situations. Besides using the printed course materials, you will be exposed to listening comprehension, speaking and phonetic exercises. This course will focus on all of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Learning the language will also give you the opportunity to discover the rich and varied cultures of Turkey.
