This course offers the student a chance to read five major works
from the writings of the ancient Romans while hearing lectures that
clarify difficult to understand passages and offer suggestions about
writing.  There are no examinations.  Instead, the student writes five
papers.  The grade in the course is the average of the grades received
on the five papers.  The course fulfills the Intensive Writing
Requirement.
