Classical Studies | Medieval Latin
L409 | 1025 | Vinson

Above section meets with CLAS L540

This course will provide an introduction to medieval Latin. We will
sample a wide variety of
texts representing the diversity of Latin in the Middle Ages. Readings
will include selections
from the Vulgate, Domesday Boo, Einhard's Vita Karoli Magni, and the
correspondence of
Heloise and Abelard. There will be a brief period of review, but students
will be expected to
know the basics of classical Latin. The final grade will be determined on
the basis of a midterm,
final exam, and quizzes.
