The possibilities for physical manipulations are boundless and transformations are not limited to
the physical realm. Personal experience can be transformed into motivational springboards,
resulting in works that delve into the broader context of social and cultural issues. This course
merges physical manipulations with concerns about what the work means in terms of
contemporary cultural constructs. Students should begin to consider their endeavors as a body
of work rather than individual projects. Students work in a variety of media and are encouraged
to expand their vocabulary of materials and modes of presentation. May be repeated for a total
of twenty credit hours.
