Geography | Geography of Western Europe
G428 | 2527 | Knudsen

This course emphasizes two interrelated topics within western Europe:
common themes across the countries of Europe, and the distinctive cultures
that make up the region. The course begins with a discussion of the
physical landscape of Europe, then takes up the cultural landscape in
general terms. It then focuses on economic and political activity within
the region, before turning to a discussion of the various cultural regions
within Europe.

Students are expected to be active-participants in the class. Class grades
are decided on the basis of class participation in individual and group
reports, a term paper, and a mid-term and final exam. G428 fulfills the
SHSI distribution requirement.
