Two credit hour course; meets 9:05-9:55 a.m., MW in BH 138.

PLEASE NOTE: This course DOES NOT count toward the minor or major in German.

Prerequisite: G330 with a minimum grade of C-. This course is designed to
improve students' oral proficiency in German and raise their understanding of
German cultural values. Students will be sensitized to differences between
North American and German culture through a broad exposure to German popular
media (video, the press, and popular literature). In-class activities will
include preparation and performance of skits and parodies of various genres.
To prepare for class, students will read a variety of texts, watch assigned
videos, and prepare their own audio tapes and other material. At the end of
the course, students should be better prepared for studying or working in
Germany, both from a linguistic and culture perspective.
