An in-depth reading of the sixteenth-century Portuguese poet Luis de
Camões.  Both his lyric and his epic works will be studied,  with
special attention given to his national epic  "Os Lusíadas."


Students will give oral presentations,  write several short textual
analyses and develop a final research project (20-25 pgs).
