S331 The Hispanic World I (3 credits)
P: S310 or S311 or equivalent

This course serves as an introduction to the study of literature. We will
read 20th century Spanish American works: prose fiction, poetry, drama, and
essay.  The social context of the works will be an important consideration.
The class is conducted in Spanish and class participation is an important
component of the grade.

There will be short papers, a mid-term, and a final exam. Credit given for
only two of the following: S331, S332, S333.
