This course will examine variation in New World Spanish from a synchronic
geographical point of view as well as from a sociolinguistic perspective.
In addition it will consider historical questions surrounding the
development of Latin American dialects. All facets of language will be
included, (phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, lexicon), though
certainly not in equal proportions.
