Students interested in registering for Educ X101, 11:15-12:05 MW,
concurrently with Prof. Bodnar's H06 should contact the student academic
center for authorization for X101 and the following section of H106.
Students must enroll in a discussion section.

This course surveys the history of the United States from 1865 to the
1980's. It places major attention on the effort to reunite the country
during Reconstruction after the Civil War, the growth of an industrial
economy and the reaction to it, the attempt to fight two world wars in the
20th century, changes in social and economic conditions of the American
people, the political upheaval of the 1960's and the involvement in
Vietnam. Students will have two lectures plus a discussion section each
week. There will also be outside readings and three essay exams.
