This course offers a student the opportunity to perform advanced
experiments in general chemistry dealing with mass spectrometry,
oxidation-reduction processes, spectrophotometry, qualitative analysis,
gases, and thermochemistry.
Considerable emphasis is placed on organizing and writing laboratory
reports, mastering quantitative experimental measurements, and analyzing
experimental results statistically. Students benefit from much one-on-one
attention by the faculty instructor and by student assistants who have
previously taken the course.
